Now that the 2025 fall season has arrived, many food brands have announced their new fall items and flavors. A majority of these new items are pumpkin spice flavored. Over the last decade, pumpkin spice has been trending and becoming a social phenomenon. Back on the shelves, these are just a sampling of items that have caught eyes and created a social sensation: Little Debbie’s Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Creme Pie, Premier Protein Pumpkin Spice Shake, Pumpkin Spice Goldfish Grahams, and Philadelphia Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Spread.
For many millennials, Little Debbie’s Oatmeal Creme Pies were a staple in their childhood diets. The sweet, sugary dessert with two stacked chewy oatmeal cookies filled with marshmallow creme illustrate the taste of nostalgia. Oatmeal Creme Pies were first created during the Great Depression, but they were not baked under the Little Debbie name until 1965. These cookies continued to stay popular throughout the ‘80s to 2000s. Other Little Debbie Creme Pie flavors on the market are Chocolate Chip Creme Pie and Jelly Creme Pies. The seasonal, limited-time Pumpkin Spice Creme Pies started rolling out into stores again in August, bringing many childhood dreams back to reality. This pie contains the two original oatmeal cookies with an orange pumpkin creme in the center, allowing for the taste of a pumpkin-filled fall.
Throughout 2025, protein powder has taken over supermarket aisles and homes, and this has been great for teenagers and frequent gym-goers. The brand Premier Protein is growing to be one of the largest protein shake brands; the drink can be chilled, blended, or used as a base for ice cream. Premier Protein shakes come in flavors such as chocolate, strawberries and cream, cookie dough, and caramel. With 30 grams of protein and one gram of sugar for 160 calories, Premier Protein shakes can be considered a healthy option for individuals. The limited-edition fall flavor was announced in 2019 and returned to the market in 2025. With a pumpkin flavor and a dash of cinnamon, Premier Protein Pumpkin Spice Shakes have been rated relatively high. Sophomore Raquelle Vainroob emphasized, “I was so excited hearing Premier Protein was releasing this flavor. I like pumpkin spice flavored things and protein shakes. This would definitely be a great mix together.” For the gymrats and protein lovers, this new fall flavor combines the healthy benefits of protein powder with the flavors of fall.
The thought of pumpkin spiced Goldfish may not sound appetizing, but in 2021, Pumpkin Spice Goldfish Grahams were released as a collaboration with Dunkin’, and started immediately flying off shelves. The grahams combine flavors of donut glazes, pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Even though the initial launch was in 2021, these did not return to shelves until years later. Due to popular demand, Goldfish and Dunkin’ announced its return to stores in August of 2025. Sophomore Noah Berkowitz remarked, “I feel that this would be an interesting combination of tastes. I heard about this coming out again and have to buy one to try.” Although a strange combination, this could be a new, fan-favorite snack. Cream cheese and pumpkin spice are two flavors that would seem not to blend. The debut of Philadelphia’s product in 2013 blew consumers’ minds with just how tasty it was. In 2023, Philadelphia celebrated 10 years of this product’s availability. Individuals enjoyed this spread on toast with cinnamon sugar, and a wide range of recipes arose from this iconic spread. Many used it in frosting recipes and on top of baked potatoes. “I’m excited for this spread to come out again this year. I definitely am eager to try it and use it in recipes,” junior Kayla Mingo expressed.
Pumpkin spice continues in being an American fan-favorite flavor with even more pumpkin spice flavored foods being released each year. Pumpkin spice food products and scented items now seem to be synonymous with fall.
