The moment that everyone has been waiting for is finally here, the Spotify Wrapped lists are out! Spotify Wrapped is an annual release of your top artists, songs, albums, and minutes you’ve listened to music throughout the whole year. This campaign has been highly anticipated and was released about a week later than normal compared to the past few years. This year, there was a new edition to the Spotify Wrapped lists: the 2024 Music Evolution. This showed the different artists and genres a person listened to in certain months. Named genres include “Academic Throwback Pop EDM (Electronic Dance Music),” “Theatrical Music Tunes,” “Boujee Football Rap,” and many others. Here are LHS students’ Spotify Wrapped results:

Q: How do you feel about Taylor Swift being Global Top Artist for the second year in a row?
A: I like Taylor Swift’s music, so I think she deserves it. She works so hard, and for how much she has been through. – Peyton Leighley, senior
A: I think she deserves it more than anyone because she has made an impact on this world that is not only positive but also influencing people to be who they want to be in life, and I find her very inspiring. Her tour, “The Eras Tour,” is one the biggest tours [of the year]. Taylor Swift is a very humble person to have all these awards and artist titles. – Emily Ciaccio, freshman
A: I don’t listen to Taylor Swift, but I think it makes sense for her to take the title because of her national tour. – Noor Mayan, freshman
A: I think there are other artists that are just as popular, if not more, and have music just as good. She tends to be slightly overrated in my opinion. – Julia Palay, junior
A: I think that Taylor Swift is a very talented artist, and she definitely deserves the title, but I am not a big fan of her music. – Skylar Wolkoff, sophomore
A: I’m not surprised by Taylor Swift taking global top artist. Her old music stays classic and popular while also producing new music, which keeps her fans following. – Addison DiFiore, junior
