“A Good, Old-Fashioned Winter”
Well, it’s that time of year again.
You know, some people say, “10 months for 2,”
but I think of two different months when I say it.
I’d prefer a day full of joy and light and color, however cold,
to a hot, sweltering, eight weeks of nothing.
Maybe, it’s just because I’m a fan of tradition.
It’s so sad when the stars don’t align and traditions can’t happen;
the stars have been all over the place lately.
I cherish every party and every gift exchange,
every song and every cookie.
I guess what I’m just trying to say
is that I’m glad we can have a good old-fashioned winter again.
