“Thank You”
White petals,
Now stained crimson red
Fill the battlefields
Of the brave,
Alive or dead.
Betsy’s banner,
Adorning streets, schools, and storefronts,
Billows boldly in the November breeze,
Like in every war, fought and won.
Trumpets playing
The Taps for those gone,
But not forgotten,
As their duty and service
Live on through the hearts that
Loved them.
“Thank You,”
A phrase on the lips of America today
As she and her people
Remember those who swore to protect
The colors and the Eagle,
This Veteran’s Day.
