Everyone loves dirt cake. Well, now here’s a recipe for dirt cookies, which are just as good if not better! While there are 70,000 different types of soil in the United States, this is the one and only cookie recipe you’ll need this Earth Day. With this simple recipe, you’ll be ready to make your own Mother Nature-approved, delectable cookies.

Course: Dessert
Servings: 30 cookies

Kitchen Supplies Needed:
•Cookie sheet
•Parchment paper or non-stick silicone baking mat
•Silicone spatula
•Cutting board
•Meat tenderizer
•Hand mixer or stand mixer
•Cookie scoop (optional)

Ingredients:
•1½ cups of all purpose flour
•½ cup of cocoa powder
•1 teaspoon of baking soda
•1 teaspoon of baking powder
•1 teaspoon of salt
•1 cup of sugar
•½ cup of brown sugar
•½ cup of canola oil
•1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
•¹⁄3 cup of milk
•½ cup of Oreo crumbs (plus more for topping)
•1 bag of Nestle dark chocolate chips (for topping)
•1 box of Gummi Worms (for topping)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a cookie sheet with either parchment paper or a non-stick silicone baking mat.
2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, use a fork to combine sugar, brown sugar, canola oil, and vanilla extract. Stir in milk with silicone spatula.
4. Add dry ingredients to liquid and mix well.
5. On top of a cutting board, crush Oreos using meat tenderizer. Put Oreo crumbs in a small bowl.
6. Fold Oreo crumbs into dough using mixer.
7. Divide the dough into 24 equal balls by rolling it with your hand or using a cookie scoop. Flatten each ball with the palm of your hand.
8. Bake at 350°F for 8 minutes.
9. Remove the cookies from oven and immediately top them with about 4 dark chocolate chips each.
10. Leave the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Then use a knife to spread dark chocolate. Top with Oreo crumbs and Gummi Worms.
11. Transfer the cookies to wire racks to allow complete cooling.
