Good Morning, Sunshine.
Come up and outside so the world can see you.
So many things desperately need you.
There are flowers and all of nature.
They all depend on your rays to grow tall and beautifully.
What about the animals?
They need the nutrients you give, and the strength in their bones.
And what about us?
What about me?
If you do not shine, then what is my reason for going outside?
I will not be able to admire the endless amount of beauty you create.
If the sun does not shine, what will be my memories?
With the brightness that you give, it always stands out so clearly to me.
My happy days are spent outside with you, wandering with you.
Now I know that you seem so far, distant, and in another world.
But either way, you are a star.
Either way, you are so vital.
And if there are clouds blocking your view,
I shall be your gust of wind to uncover you.
If there is rain that prevents your shine,
I will wait for you, my sun.
I will wait until the day shines just as brightly as the first time I saw you.
So, rest for a moment or two behind the dark clouds.
Wait until whatever storm you are facing passes.
I’ll wait with the grass and the trees.
I’ll wait for you to resurface and shine brighter than any star I’ve seen.
Then tonight when you lay your head to rest beneath the horizon,
and you think of the other, smaller, dimmer stars,
I think of the sun who brought my world together.
The sun who lights up my world in more ways than one.
So, goodnight, Sunshine.
I will see you tomorrow.
But rest for now,
So I can be your sun tomorrow.
