Growing up seemed so far away,
I never thought I would come to this day,
I remember being so small,
But now looking back, I had it all.
The times I cried letting go of your hand.
Leaving you for college I can now understand.
I don’t know how to act when I wave you goodbye.
I will try my best to smile, at least on the outside.
What if I miss you and want to come home?
I cannot imagine how I’ll do it alone.
As I leave my hometown, I am a total wreck.
This place is somewhere I will never forget.
I know that it’s officially time to move on.
But I hope I can still make you proud when I’m gone.
I can’t believe today is the day.
