“On Going Out on a Cool March Afternoon”
I emerge,
After 31 years,
From my cocoon.
Sunlight fills my view.
Everyone knew…
The sun would come back.
But they didn’t know when.
I see everyone there.
“Bienvenue” they say.
I join them happily.
And we do exactly
What we were destined to do.
And the sun shines,
Upon us as it did.
For those before us.
Even in winter,
The sun shines.
But darkness
Swallowed up the light
For over three decades.
But only now
Can I join everyone.
In the new light,
And taste the sun.
